5 Things That Make a Site Look AI-Built
There's a look. You've seen it — and once you can name what causes it, it's quick to fix.
1. Three identical cards, everywhere
The same icon-heading-paragraph card, repeated in rows down the whole page. Real sites vary their layout section to section.
2. Emoji standing in for icons
🚀 for "fast," 💡 for "ideas." It's the fastest tell there is. A simple line icon reads as considered; an emoji reads as a placeholder nobody replaced.
3. Everything centred
Centre the hero, centre a heading — fine. Centre every paragraph and every card and the page has no structure left, because nothing is anchored to anything else.
4. A gradient on every single surface
One gradient, somewhere, is striking. A gradient on the hero, the buttons, the cards and the footer is the look of a template nobody adjusted.
5. Generic stock phrases
"Take your business to the next level." "Solutions for every need." Copy that could describe any business describes none of them — swap it for the one detail that's actually true of yours.
Fixing all five is usually a single afternoon, and it's the difference between "someone made this" and "someone typed a prompt and stopped."
